Big Bike Heart and Stroke

Another fabulous day of fund-raising for the Whistler’s Rippin Realtors….”The Big Bike for Heart and Stroke” now in its 7th year here in Whistler was a great success despite the downturn in the economy, the fundraising initiatives raised $1175 in just 30 minutes of riding the biggest bike in the world…. The Rippin Realtors filled 29 seats plus one driver and peddled around Whistler through the village, according to David Wiebe from RE/MAX  this years team organizer.

David said the ride through the village was a blast and he believes it gave many of the tourists a good chuckle, while at the same time reminding them of the importance behind the cause.

David was very thankful for the realtors that stepped up to the plate and participated, some of them have volunteered for several years. David himself took the opportunity to door knock his neighborhood to raise funds – but he admitted to the fact that most money raised was on the internet through the easier option for donations.    http://bit.ly/dxE18Y

After the exhausting (Heeee Heee) ride was over the team was lavishly catered to at the BrewHouse Pub http://markjamesgroup.com/brewhouse.html  ice-cold beer and yummy snacks compliments of Tanya Piekarski and the Mountain Peaks Resort Realty http://bit.ly/9fYa31

It would only be fair to mention that the “Rippin Realtors” is a combination of Whistler Realtors, support staff, and assistants loaned to the cause by their employers – a big thank you to all of them… It takes a team effort and a little of each persons time to make events like this one a success. To all the team a big round of applause, the Heart and Stroke Foundation relies on this type of personal commitment to fund their research and help the many people living with heart disease.  http://bit.ly/cTpyIp The Heart and Stroke Foundation pedals through over 200 communities, across nine provinces raising funds of up to $7,000,000, gaining attention and laughs along the way!

Every seven minutes someone dies in Canada from Heart Decease.
